Crop party @ Papier

Happy Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day everyone!!!! Great long weekend, and I plan to just stay at home and scrap some more :) This entry is long overdue but here it goes.. It is about the crop party I attended at Papier 2 weeks ago. Of course, Jessy was hosting again, and boy, we sure had fun! This time I am much prepared (after being teased before of bringing a cartload of stuff!), and brought just enough stuff for the party. It was a good crowd.. everyone is relaxing and enjoying themselves (plus panicking at some times)..

The first challenge is of course, the tag challenge. We have to create name tags for the person to our left. I came in late and did one in a rush, that I created for the wrong person! Luckily, I can just changed the name. The tag was really simple.. mine is for jo below.. I used Nikki Sivils cut out tag. My tag was created by Maznah.. also known as Maz. That's why you see you 'Maz' tags! I wonder why most people use pink in their tag. It's pink and red theme anyway for the party!!

After the tags are done, we were on our first challenge, which was to create a layout based on a song. I chose to scrap my children dancing and banging the drums in the studio. Jessy gave great ideas by sharing songs from her iPhone. So, what's more perfect than "I love to.. move it!!" They just loved the song, we played the song over and over and over again (glad that the phase was over). Here we were, busy at work...

And here is my first challenge layout.. love the bright colors, as always :))

The second and last challenge is a bit tougher. We have to create layouts using 6 items from Jessy's long list of scrapping items. I chose to use 3 patterned paper (Jessy was strict about this.. hehe), inks (I used distress ink to ink the paper edges), buttons, red (the strawberries are red), handwritten journaling, and stickers. I used the lovely Nook & Pantry papers from Basic Grey. I realized that the papers matched this picture of Zareef and hubby picking strawberries at Cameron Highlands. So here's my layout..

All in all, we had fun! It's great to mingle with other scrappers once in a while. Will surely join again! Here is the group photo of us gals.. courtesy of Jessy again.. :))) Thanks for all the fun, Jessy!! TFL and have a great new year ahead!

Dance like no one is watching

I like to share another layout I did, using mostly Crate Paper Bliss Collection. I just love the fun purple and green colors! And Jessy is right, chipboard is fun and so easy to use! This layout is based on Scrap the Girls February challenge, which is create a layout based on this quote:

"Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt and live like it's heaven on Earth." — Mark Twain
.....
We also have to include hearts in our layouts. So, I scrapped this pics of Zara shaking her bum-bum. She loves to dance and sing, and always shaking her bum-bum; while singing, "Boo-cheeka-bum-bum"!! This layout is inpired by Pencil Lines Sketch #172. This is a simple and quick layout but I like how it turned out. I played around with Glimmer Mist again and was almost ruined when Zareef stepped on it while it's still wet! Luckily, I can cover the mishape with the papers! Zareef, Zareef....Well, TFL!!

Field Trip

Hello everyone! Here is a layout I did last week.. based on this gorgeous sketch by Sketchabilities (January 30th). The background paper is just marvelous on its own, so I kept this layout simple. I layer up Prima packaging boards and added some chipboard stickers. The Prima packaging are great, aren't they?

This layout is also inspired by February Groovie Cover. I am inspired by the stampings on the cover, just like my paper here! This picture is from my field trip late last year, where I edited it to look like oldies picture. We sure look like lost gardeners on a hill... hehe :D
