Sweet boy of mine

A layout I did using 52 Sketches 52 Weeks #47. I replaced the circle with Crate Paper Orbit die-cut. This is perfect, I think, for this sweet picture of Zareef. This is really a rare picture of Zareef looking sweet into the camera. He is, really, a sweet boy when he is not naughty and grumpy. :))

Crazy me

A layout using Pencil Line Sketch #160 this time. I love the simplicity of this sketch, a lot of layering going on here! I scrap this crazy picture of me wearing bright green wig. I wore this wig for Dinner & Dance last year as Mrs Joker. My husband was, of course, The Joker. This picture was taken at Enchanted Forest studio. We just did another photoshoot yeasterday and we had lots of fun! Plenty of lovely pictures to scrap! I love how the background reflect my bright green wig.. TFL!

Creative Scrappers Sketch #79 - Bandung 06

Time for another Creative Scrappers reveal. I scrapped a picture from our trip to Bandung 3 years ago. Wow, seems like a long long time ago. Zareef was just 8-9 months during the trip, a very unsuitable age to travel. I remembered what a hassle it was bringing him, as he can't walk yet, but was very active. He cried and wailed everytime we get into a cab and he just got restless anytime we were out. Anyway, we still had fun. We visited Tangkuban Perahu, which is an active volcano just outside Bandung, and bathe in hot water spring nearby. And of course, we shopped a lot till we broke too.. haha.. For this layout, I used Basic Grey Sultry collection.. just love the colors! TFL!!

Love is... on Team Edward side

This layout is kinda special.. It was specially made to celebrate the release of the latest Twilight movie New Moon. I completed this layout last Saturday, November 20, the day New Moon is released. I admit it, I am a Twilight freak! I can't wait to watch the movie when it hits Malaysia next week (one week late!!! duh!!). I heard that it got bad ratings, but who cares? I don't expect much, as the book will always be better than the movie.. plus it is my least favorite book (maybe because less Edward? hehe).

Ok- enough about the movie.. Candy Shoppe Design has a Twilight theme contest that I couldn't resist, Team Edward vs Team Jacob challenge, to be exact. I am an all out Team Edward fan, of course! To be on Team Edward, you have to use a little bit of black and red and some bling2 (vampires shine like diamond in the sun, right?). I only have to use a bit of the colors, but I decided to make them the dominant colors. This is my first time using black as the background, but I like how it turned out. It is a picture of me with my version of Edward Cullen.. hehehe

This layout is also inspired by Happy Scraps November poster challenge. Love how the black color also matches my Team Edward theme too.. My background paper mimic the bird feather and the dangling gems matched the sparkling black brads in my layout. For this layout, I used Ed's Sketch November challenge. We have to use background stamps, which I stamped on the kraft paper and added it to the layout.

You Light Up My Life

Yey, I finally get this done. It has been sitting on my scrapping desk for weeks now, waiting for me to come back from Borneo.. hehe.. This layout is based on Twisted Sketch #22, with rub-ons twist to it. The title is from a famous song (not sure who sings it), which is for {Create} Make It Happen Music & Lyrics challenge. Sure, the kids really light up my life in so many ways.. but sometimes ignite me up to my burning point too.. haha.. These pictures are from last year Raya holiday. We were all dressed up in peach! TFL!!

Scrapperocks with real rocks!

I'm back!!!! Red with sunburn and aching muscle.. But I had lots of fun in Borneo. It is just what I need, to increase my technical knowledge and also to refresh myself, kinda like a week away from reality. Our first stop is at Labuan, which is a nice small island off Sabah. A very peaceful island, and it took us only 2 hours to tour the island. The outcrops in Labuan are cool.. most of them are along the beach, so it was nice to walk along the beach, cooled off by the refreshing sea breeze.

Then on Wednesday we flew to Miri, and took a 4 hours bus ride to Bintulu (supposed to be only 2 hours but the bus is sooo slowww). In Bintulu, the outcrops are along roadside, so no more sea breeze to cool us down. But the weather is on our side. All 5 days, it did not rained when we were out in the field, and at the most exposed stops, we had clouds protection. In Bintulu, we had to wear a very glaring safety vest, so that every time locals passed by, they looked and stared at us like we are some kinda crazy people. "Jakunnya, apa best sangat batu buruk tu".. hehe..

As predicted, I got sunburn even when I was covered all over, even my face! I looked like a "penyangak" (bad guys) or an Arab nomad, wearing handkerchief over my face. That's the price of having this very sensitive skin. But it's OK, it was worth it. Food was great, we had lots of cheap seafood every night, especially when the company is paying.. hehe. Overall, it was a good trip. The hiking is minimal (nothing compared to US field trip), and the outcrops are amazing. It's great to mingle with my office colleagues outside the office (lots of yummy gossiping) and it's always good to get away from office once in a while.. :)

p/s: I am too lazy and too tired to scrap this weekend. Also need to spend time with my family.. hopefully got the chance to scrap next week! Plus, now I have lots of awesome pictures to scrap :)

The Chimney... Labuan's landmark
Our final stop in Labuan.. nice view, nice rocks (yes, in that sequence).. Notice the rock hammer Aziz had on my head.. haha
Chillin' by the seaside..
Content after yummy and tummyful dinnerSimilajau National Park near Bintulu.. nothing much but a beach with mangroves and crocodiles, and not to mention lots of hungry mosquitoes..
At the beach..
World-class tidal rocks exposure.. Our instructors convinced us that this is the best in the world, and due to weathering, it wont last long :)
The class with our glamorous safety vests..

Creative Scrappers Sketch #77

Look at me! ....my first layout as Creative Scrappers Design Team. Love the sketch, you can't go wrong with circles. I adore this cute papers from My Little Shoebox, full of fun and cheerful colors (plus matching circle cut-outs). Another layout of our cheeky and sweet Zara. She must have been saying "cheese" at the camera, showcasing her amazing smile. The title says it all, she just love attention!! TFL, and hope you join in the challenge!

I am happily (hopefully) now in Borneo studying real rocks... This scheduled publishing is great!

First CS assignment - Sneak Peek!

Hi everyone! Here is a sneak peek of my first layout assignment as Creative Scrappers DT. Do come back on Monday for the reveal. Pretty excited about this :))

In the mean time, I am off for a field trip at Borneo (Labuan & Bintulu) this Sunday! It's time for me to look at hard rocks again, not just scrapperocks, but hardcore rocks! It's been a while since my last field trip, which was way before I had Zareef. This will be a great refresher, especially after years and years working in front of the computer, you tend to forget how it is like being a REAL geologist.

So, while I'm off having fun (hopefully am still fit for the long hikings), this blog will be idle for a while (only a week lah).

Our Cute Little Cubs

It's already Thursday, and time for another reveal of a layout I did last weekend. I kinda like how this one turned out. I love the bright orange n green combo, and love the cute tiger stickers! They all complement the photos of our cute little cubs, they are just adorable :) This layout is inspired by Creative Scrappers Sketch #74. TFL!

Transformers layout

Hello everyone!! Here is a layout inspired by Twisted Sketch #21. This time the twist is to include alphas, any alphas. Of course, no layout is complete without alphas! This sketch is quite different to the one I used to. I usually don't like to do gridded and clean lines layout, but I have to give this one a try.

Zareef is really really into Transformers now. He has 2 of them, one is Long-Haul, courtesy of 'nenek' during his last birthday, and other one, Bumblebee, courtesy of 'ayah'. He watched both movies countless of times, even memorizing some lines from the movies. He also named his shirt Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Iron Hide, Megatron, SideSwipe, etc etc.. according to the color of the shirt. See, even I come to know the names of the robots!! Every Sunday, before his Gymboree class, he has a date with Transformers robots @ Toys'r us. And he will make up stories about the robots. Yeah, I told you he's really into it!

Oh, if you're a fan of Transformers, you can guess that MTMTE means 'More than meets the eyes', a famous Transformers quote.

p/s: sorry for poor quality of the picture as I took the pictures during evening time, after work.
