Happy New Year, people! Hope this new year will bring all the happiness that you wishes for! Here is a layout to celebrate new year, Zazamazu style! If you don't know already, Zazamazu is our official family name, if we have one. It is just the first two letters of our name.. ZAreef, ZAra, MAzlina & ZUlkarnain. We have a family blog by the same name too :) We have to rethink of a new name if we have more family members! hehe..
This layout is based on 52 sketches 52 weeks #51. I am suprised to learn that they just posted their last sketch, ever! They are closing down!! Even though I am new to the forum, I really think that it's a great and active community. I really don't understand why they are closing down. But one thing I discovered in the scrapbooking world, these challenge blogs didn't last long! So, off to find more interesting site to join!
OK, that's it for 2009. Now I have been scrapping for one year and I really really enjoying it. Do come back next year (not too long now) for my one year scrapping giveaway!
Can't wait for our annual New Year party tomorrow. You guys have a great New Year!!!

Best friend forever
Another layout before the year turns again.. Here is a picture of us celebrating New Year 2 years ago. We gathered at our house, had a nice BBQ and played rounds of games before 2008 came. I was pregnant with Zara at that time, due anytime then. Hubby was hoping for a 2007 baby, so apparently that did not worked out.. :) It was a fun time with our friends, having best friends like them really made our life better.
This layout is for Candy Shoppe Design December challenge. We have to incorporate as much from the list provided. I chose blue, silver, white, tree and pearls. This is something a bit of out of ordinary for me, using blue & silver, but I like how it turned out. It has kind of winter feel to it, although I felt it to be more like a wedding invitation rather than New Year layout.. haha! This layout is inspired by Twisted Sketch #29. The twist this time is red or gold, hence the gold bird down there - have to match the wintery theme here!

Borneo 2009
Hope it's not too late to wish everyone Merry Christmas! Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend :) I did a layout yesterday, inspired by Twisted Sketch #28. The twist for now is 'frames', so I used these lovely copper frame corners from Momoyo. It kind of fit the total neutral earthy colors.
Here are pictures of my recent field trip to Labuan & Bintulu last November. Despite the heat, sweat and crazy sunburn, I had lots of fun and learn a lot too! It was a very nice getaway and a great refresher to my rusty geology. Here are pictures of us chillin by the seaside at Labuan and another one at Similajau National Park. Thanks for dropping by and Have a Happy New Year!!!

Cantek!
Here is a layout I did for my little girl, Zara. I just love this picture; her eyes, her hair.. just beautiful! And I took the picture myself! OK, I got lucky.. it is rare to get nice pictures of the kids when they are so active! The title 'cantek!' literally means pretty, which is Zara's favorite word now. She love everything nice, and she will say 'ntek' to everything she deems nice, especially when it comes to herself!
This layout is inspired by Twisted Sketch, where the twist for this one is 'transparent'.. whichever way that moves you. I just love these papers from Kaisercraft! Their colors are just wonderful and cheerful. These papers just arrived from Australia itself! Yes, they are from Scrap of My Life, who are the sponsor for Scrap The Boys challenge I won months ago. Thanks Julie for these pack! TFL!

Uwek!
It's time for another reveal for Creative Scrappers. Here is my take on Sketch #83, a lovely sketch by Irene Groneng. This is my first time playing with misting and I love it! No wonder people are crazy over misting. I am still afraid of misting, so it's not that apparent in this layout. But, I will surely try again and buy more colors!
I used Basic Grey Two Scoops papers for this layout. The flowers are stamped, cut and misted. I like how they turned out. I also tried my hands on free drawing. I drew the swirls with Stickles and love how that turned out too. It is easy and way cheaper than those Prima pearls (but I still love those too!). I am inspired by Wati to layer up the buttons. Thanks for the idea!

So in Love..
Believe it or not.. It's been 6 years already.. 6 wonderful and happy years. I could not ask for more, and hope for many many many more blissful years together.
I created this layout specially to celebrate this special occasion. This one is inspired by Let's Capture These Sketches #20. Again, I am using these wonderful papers from S.E.I Chocolat collection. I just love their color combo! Thanks for visiting :)

Sneaky peaky!
Hi everyone! It's been a busy but fun weekend last week. We went for NATS family day at Janda Baik on Saturday and joined ERC treasure hunt on Sunday. I only managed to complete one layout last weekend, as I was just so tired to stay up and scrap. But it was a good kind of tired as we had a blast weekend. Read more about it our weekend getaways at Zazamazu blog.
The layout I did was for Creative Scrappers, which can only be revealed this Sunday. Here is a sneak peak of it.. don't forget to come back on Sunday for the reveal! ;)

Oh, I just found out I won 3rd prize for Scrap The Boys for this layout. Yey!!! I won a boy kit from What is Old is New Kit!!!! Too bad that this blog is shutting down as I enjoyed joining their challenges...

My Sleeping Beauty
Hello everyone!! Here is a layout based on Ed's Sketch. You have to include stamps or cutouts of butterflies or any winged creatures in your layout. I just can't resist this one, as I really love to include butterflies in my layout; it kinda makes the layout seems more alive, somehow. Here I used Basic Grey Porcelain papers and stamps. Don't you just love the tie-dye papers in the collection? Here I scrap a lovely picture of Zara sleeping soundly during our photoshoot last year. Almost done scrapping last year's pics, can't wait to scrap the pictures from our latest photoshoot! Thanks for stopping by!

ADORE
Another layout for Creative Scrappers, this time a sweet layout from July Gaceta, Sketch #81. This time I scrap a picture of me and my mom, during Raya hols 2 years ago. I am glad to finally use these flower stickers, which matched perfectly with our Raya baju kurung. I just love these soft pastel colors of purple and blue! Do check out other DT amazing reveal and hope that you will join us too! TFL!!

iSwim
This is a layout for Scrap The Girls November challenge. I know, it's already December, but this one was a last minute one. It was a color challenge; to create a layout using these colors below. It looks like a boyish color, but you have to take a peek at the fantastic entries, very girlish and amazing! Here is a picture of Zara, splashing in a kiddie pool at our backyard. It matched perfectly with the cheerful colors, and I especially like how to lace background compliment everything. :)

SIL December challenge - Tough Guy
It's December already! Can't believe how fast time flies.. Soon, it's gonna be 2010! Anyway, for December, Yatie came up with a great challenge for Scrap-It-Lah. We have to do a layout that incorporate these things:
I don't usually use B&W photos, as I usually send my photos to print in bulk at the print store. So, for this challenge, I used my dusty printer that haven't been used in ages. I barely have enough ink to print these photos of Zareef. Lucky it turned out OK!
I like how this one turned out, and it has deep meaning to me too. Zareef is a big boy now (he really is maturing a bit). The quote in this layout is really an advice from me to Zareef, so he can be adventurous, brave, and explore the world with an open mind; Do the best in everything he does, better than anyone else. Just go for it!
Hope you join us in this challenge. Do check out the awesome DT take on this one!
